Overview

What is Americanism? Most veterans are proud to be an American since we all served during times of conflict in the US military. Some of us were wounded and some had friends that never made back to civilian life. Some of us served in far away places in defense of all our freedoms. So the phrase “we all gave some, some gave all” means a lot.
But as civilians what does Americanism mean? Honor the freedoms that our service members give us. Honor our form of government which gives us rights guaranteed by our Constitution even when we do not agree with some of them. There are ways to change the Constitution. Our form of justice is that no one is above the law. Even when sometimes we feel the law maybe wrong, there are legal ways to change the laws.

We are planning to write lesson plans for elementary students to create an understanding of what it means to be an American.
